about us
Asbury Church Assistance Network, Inc. (A.C.A.N)
Asbury Church Assistance Network (ACAN) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that encourages wellness by making healthy food choices and essential items available to households experiencing food insecurity in Anne Arundel County. ACAN began in 2004 as an outreach ministry to provide emergency assistance. Since then we have grown from serving approximately 1500 clients a year to serving more than 20,000 clients in 2020.
Prior to covid, ACAN was a self choice pantry where customers could select from various fruits and vegetables and dairy products. Periodically dry and canned goods were made available along with meat.
In response to covid, our pantry has become a drive up format where boxes containing produce, dairy and meat are prepared by staff and placed in customer vehicles.

SUPPORT OUR Van campaign
We have many initiatives to raise money for the food pantry. One of those initiatives is the “Van Fund” which will aid us in purchasing a safe, reliable vehicle. This will aid us in not only pick up more food but assist us in delivering food to those physically unable to make it to the pantry.
